I have been at WMHS since 2003. I've taught all kinds of classes from Accounting, Web Design, Integrated Tech, Marketing and even Drama. I served as the building's Integrated Tech Specialist for a few years, manage our school's website and run our after-school Credit Recovery program.
I look forward to getting to know each and everyone one of you and establishing a solid professional relationship teaching you, guiding you and hopefully leading you to your best possible future. The sky is truly the limit and with a little hard work and determination, I will help you reach your goals whatever they may be.
All of my classes are run through Schoology, so Internet access is a must. All assessments will be taken via Schoology and students are expected to complete these assessments within the time frame given. There will be an opening and closing date for these types of assessments, once they close, they will not be re-open or allowed to be made up, so please be sure to pay attention and keep yourself organized. These assessment dates will always be posted in the lesson plans located above by specific class. However, if we are completing an in-class assessment where I'm assessing the entire class at the same time and you happen to be absent that day, then you must make that up within one-week after school during my lab times listed below and will be given a different test than what was given during class time. It's always a good idea to be present for tests like this as I may allow you to use notes, a flashcard or even your book or the Internet!! Say what???? Yes, it's true! If you have to take the make-up assessment, then you will not have that luxury my friends. I try to give at least one-week's notice on in-class assessments, so you are aware and don't miss out on all of the fun!
Our classroom rules, expectations and motto is PRIDE, which stands for being prepared, being respectful, being involved, being determined and being enthusiastic. EVERY student is expected to display their Mott Pride daily without reminder. These are our non-negotiable's of our classroom and students earn participation points by following these simple rules. It's what we stand for and what we do! This helps keep our classroom environment safe, friendly and up-beat where everyone is participating in their own way and on task for the work that stands before them. If you think about it, these "rules," are what builds the foundation for a solid character and better prepares you for the future that lies before you. Much like your boss in the real world, I expect you to rise to the occasion because we are a team and we're in this together. You will hear me constantly saying...Team work makes the dream work! I know...CHEESE, but that's just who I am!
The best way to contact me is via e-mail. I can quickly respond to an e-mail during the school day answering your question/concern and will do my best to respond within 24 hours during the week. If you e-mail during the weekend or a break, it may take a few extra days.
Please make sure you've gone over and read my syllabus so you know what's expected. My contact information is below. It has truly been a pleasure serving as a staff member at WMHS all of these years. I am looking forward to another great school year with you and your family!
